The Outpost executive producer just popped up out of nowhere and liked a completely untagged tweet on my SPN (not Outpost) fandom account about DeanCas’ sex life.

That’s a thing that just happened.

I can’t breathe

I just

I have a new tombstone okay

Bonus points:

He’s friends with Davy so that’ll turn up in Davy’s feed even if he doesn’t have the chutzpah to click it because of this fandom.

Also been liked by someone Bobo follows.

Sksksksk and a few people now that follow Doug that are followed by the leads.

Please note: this is NOT my Outpost fandom account. On rare occasion I’ll post about Outpost to give it a boost, but I engage them on a different personal, and beyond that a business account. This is three screens later and they may not even realize it’s me, I only talk to Sonalii (Essa) on this account.

I can’t

It’s… it’s not even his show? He’s just… RL friends with Davy? SKSKSK DOUG SHIPS IT I CANT HOW DID HE EVEN FIND THIS

okay, im seeing a lot of posts about the continuity errors in the premiere, and i have a weak hypothesis about why cass was, well, why our angel boi has been weak as shit lately.

y’all remember last season when cass met with not-dead-naomi and had a nice chat about how heaven was failing because there were so few angels? and further back to about season 4, when he said his powers were failing because his connection to heaven was severed?

what if the reason he’s not at normal angel strength is because it’s not just the fact that his connection with heaven is weak, but that heaven itself is falling? i think that would absolutely have an impact on his abilities, if the source of his power to begin with was falling apart and shutting down. in which case, the whole deal would make sense in the situation…

okay, maybe not the “not being able to see the demons” issue, but nearly everything.

🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Honestly that’s been the only spec that’s made tangible sense to me that wasn’t just a solid dose of mechanically enacted metaphor, so yeah – I’m in the same boat. But right now I’d love for them to textualize a reason instead of leaving us to headcanon super rubber bouncy ball Caspower.

Once again people citing ratings on all sides of the fence without a damn clue what they’re looking at.

intelligentshipper:

And once again, me here to bash my head off my desk about it.

I’ve already talked ratings to death. In fact, it’s pretty much what I’m grounded to in the fandom really. One look at my #ratings tag and it’s most of my personal content generation. And a lot of the people currently quoting ratings have used my material when it’s convenient to them to believe (and of course those on the other side that have never made a damn lick of sense about ratings to begin with), but we’re here. Again.

Keep in mind. I didn’t necessarily feel thrilled by the premiere either. This is not even in defense of the premiere, it’s just exhaustion with seeing people mis-cite ratings. AGAIN. Bitch about the premiere all you want but the ratings card is definitely not the way to be going with this, fam.

So let’s have a realistic talk about what the hell is going on in ratings right now.

OK, some quick thoughts about the «Cas is stuck in a chair while everyone else is fighting» problem.

First of all, I would like to point out that it took a whole bar full of demons and FOUR pairs of enochian handcuffs to keep him in that chair. Not bad.

Do you realize what a COMPLETE TORTURE it must be for him? He is there, unable to move, while literally his whole family sans Dean is seconds from being killed – and he can just sit and watch? With the terrible knowledge they are there because of him in the first place.

This is a direct parallel to all the TFW 2.0. members in this episode:

1) Jack who lost his powers (and feels completely useless now);

2) Dean who is stuck not being able to move, and just observing what Michael is doing, and how people are dying around him;

3) Sam who has the terrible feeling that Dean is stuck with Michael because he tried to save him, Dean who paid a huge price, and may be dead already or very soon.

Also, once again we are shown that working together is better than working alone (like a hammer to the face actually, it’s almost like an after school special that shows you what happens if you don’t discuss your your plan to work with demons/archangels with your family).

In this episode, everyone feels powerless in some way. They can’t find Michael. They can’t fight demons. They can’t help with hacking, they can’t catch a break. It’s a growing sense of frustration that is overwhelming. And it’s not just Cas being stuck in that chair. It’s everyone.

I also like the parallel we have here with 4.01.

Back then we also had a scene with a bar staffed with demons, and these demons were massacred by Cas. Burnt out eyes and all. Now, Cas is supposedly at his full power just like then, yet he is not able to take down a bar full of demons. Why? Well, rewind to 12×09, when Dean was held by the government and Cas was hunting alone.

Cas has a weakness now. And he is not at his full capability when Dean is gone.

Dean is his weakness, humanity is his weakness, love is his weakness – but hey, we already knew that.

It’s time for SPN to show us love is not a weakness. It’s already showing us your family is your strength, so that’s a good start.
