Exactly. This is what strikes me in particular about this, uh, sudden and unexpected merch drop.

It sold out right off the bat! Driven by popularity. I think @intelligentshipper may have some statistical input that fleshes this out? *serves cake*

First of all, yes, this is official, merchandised, WB-cleared swag.

second of all, what end would you like your statistic input on? The ratings? The social media engagement? The censuses? The google trends? Because any way you cut that cake it tells that it is, indeed, all the same story.

I’m a bit occupado right now to commit, but you can probably go to my blog > Menu > Frequent tags > demos/demographics/stats/statistics/ratings/any related tags and find a bunch of it. I honestly have to sort of recompose it.

There is no ambiguity on this posting. It is literally a will-they-won’t-they tag line on a shirt listed as Destiel.

Merch isn’t showrunning, but it IS an interesting shift. I just spent an hour looking to see if there’s ever been official merch for other ships, and even certain canon-consummated ones like Megstiel, I haven’t found any yet.

Merch isn’t showrunning, but it’s extremely interesting that this is the first official ship swag (even ships like M*gstiel that had canon consummation never got official swag, have fun digging to try to prove me wrong) – and there is no ambiguity on the will-they-won’t-they tag line they’re selling it under. No harm in simultaneously getting your official Destiel merch AND sending a profitable message to those on high.

They sold out literally overnight. Only the plus size shirt remains, though the number in stock is unknown.

And yes. They are quite literally official Destiel shirts.

I may have to begin upkeeping daily updates.

Two days ago, we received spoilers on season 14 via pre-screenings, with promises of multiple punches in the face to antis in mere minutes.

Yesterday, we received the gift of Jensen merrily filming Misha Pieing Trump* in the face.

Today, 10/4/2018, Mitch Kosterman, brother of Clif, J2’s bodyguard, formerly in close association with the Kelloggs Club, retweeted this.

I am unsure the state the fandom will be in. There is one week left in hiatus and this shows no sign of slowing.

Honorable mention: J2 Hats are still arguing and angry about Jensen’s last interview and Jared’s lack of appearance. This storm may take the full week to subside.

Also, it has been brought to my attention that I failed to incorporate major updates of 2k18, such as The Ineffable Post. Perhaps, of course, because it is Ineffable. Apparently I deleted the memory base due to the level of personal exposure for the subjects related to the event, but it has been restored from my mental recycling bin. This, partnered with Mitch’s retweet, is threatening to make *me* think in Cockles wavelengths.

Help is needed, situations are dire. Packaged heteronormativity is urgently requested.

Mitch Kosterman is more involved in the fandom than I am at the moment.

The date is October 5th, 2018. It is hard to believe the above transpired in less than one day.

It seems Mitch Kosterman’s stand has quieted, but not been forgotten. His follower gain rate increased more than six fold above his average yesterday and trickle will continue. A vast amount of Cockles and Destiel accounts have been followed since.

We leave that, for now, to instead include this released special photoshoot for Halloween, in which an inclusive photographer seems to have been chosen.
