all of her references to being attracted to women get played as jokes and she ends up as tahani’s “soulmate” in a literal simulation designed to torture the four of them and even that you don’t see past tahani entering the room. that is piss poor bi representation.

i don’t need “her” to do anything, she is a fictional character. i need the literal showrunners to stop pulling cutesy shit like this line where they get points for being Progressive without actually showing any good bi representation (or any LGBT rep, for that matter)

it’s a comedy. everything is treated like a joke. the difference in it being a joke where bi people are the butt of it and a joke where we’re in on it is something this show does well and i’m sorry you’ve been so burned by shows that you have to take it out on a good show.

there are a ton of serious, sweet moments in this show so the fact that all the references to eleanor being attracted to women are pulled for laffs should tell you something. i have laughed! i have found those tiny moments to be relatable and funny! that doesn’t make her a #bicon and it certainly doesn’t rise to the level of praising the showrunners for being soooo pro LGBT when they’re really just sprinkling bisexuality in (mostly dialog and not even visually) to cash in on a cultural moment without including it meaningfully
