When searching for gencest on twitter to encourage those talking about signing up for the Bang this was presented as a ‘I’m not piling on, but’ post that I felt warranted a level reply.

Not everyone knows what ‘smarm’ means, and different people have different definitions of anti-shipper (the one in dotthings’ post is just one, but not the most widely used). I don’t think you should use you not understanding it as evidence that others do not.

I didn’t tell dotthings it isn’t for her, she said she doesn’t like it. You are obviously upset about it, so I think it’s logical to assume you don’t like it?

I’ve already explained where the -cest comes from in Gencest and have corrected the misusage numerous times by now so I won’t reiterate, but you can look back on my other post if you didn’t see it. I will say again signing up is completely optional! You’ll never have to sign up for something that makes yo uncomfortable or doesn’t make sense to you.

Wow. Destiel shippers with Sam as their fave are so rare. I’m impressed.

I don’t find it’s that we’re rare, we’re just quiet. I have a bundle of similar Sam-focused Destiel fans I speak with, but they’re just a lot less vocal than I am. I’ve recently pulled @casgirlsam out of her dark hermit hole to get more vocal for example, but it’s sort of a dark art to find those of us who have been badgered into silence. At least once a month I get tagged into something where I’m being referred to someone looking for more Destiel-positive Sam fans by another Destiel-positive Sam fan looking for similar minds.

Part of the problem comes with the contagious infestation of aggressive tinhats or *ncest shippers that infect lanes. It’s goddamn impossible to completely avoid them turning up in notes or reblogs and if this content is problematic to you or people you know, it makes it really difficult to find. And if you’re not a natural content creator for things like gifs or art (for example, I’m more text based, ratings and literary, etc), you really don’t just get to brew up your own content. I’m not a skilled gif maker. It is a literal art.

But we’re out here. Generally, I find Sam fans that are pro-Destiel or at least Destiel-supportive are some of the best fans out there. Because by nature they love all parts of the crew, and all the central characters, even if they more emotionally ID with someone like Sam. But yeah, we exist. We’re just quiet, and tired of catching bullshit from every lane. Then you get the ones like me that don’t give a fuck and come locked and loaded.

i’ve not only learned to say “fuck it”, ive been downright contrary. people told me to stop tagging ship stuff in the main tags? fuck it i’m doing it anyway. people tell me i don’t love the bro bond? i talk positively about it more often.

re: content: this is exactly why i learned how to make gifs and even spent $3 on a gif app because sam content that doesn’t come from a completely toxic source is scarce. and it’s not because people hate sam. it’s because, as previously mentioned, it attracts the gross people in the fandom.

on a related note, i know someone that gets several anons a day asking why she hates sam when she writes stories that heavily involve him in some way. and it’s been that way for years.

Two days ago, we received spoilers on season 14 via pre-screenings, with promises of multiple punches in the face to antis in mere minutes.

Yesterday, we received the gift of Jensen merrily filming Misha Pieing Trump* in the face.

Today, 10/4/2018, Mitch Kosterman, brother of Clif, J2’s bodyguard, formerly in close association with the Kelloggs Club, retweeted this.

I am unsure the state the fandom will be in. There is one week left in hiatus and this shows no sign of slowing.

Honorable mention: J2 Hats are still arguing and angry about Jensen’s last interview and Jared’s lack of appearance. This storm may take the full week to subside.

It seems Mitch Kosterman’s stand has quieted, but not been forgotten. His follower gain rate increased more than six fold above his average yesterday and trickle will continue. A vast amount of Cockles and Destiel accounts have been followed since.
