So, I just read this cool post about ships and such in which someone mentioned Sabriel and the complete rejection of the notions that either Gabriel or Eileen are dead in a single sentence.
I now want to write Sam/Eileen/Gabriel (Sailiel?). Or at least read it. Because I so needed another plot bunny right now.
Godsdamnit.
Biggest thing in my head right now is that Gabriel’s fix for any time there are communication gaps between Eileen and anyone is to snap his fingers in his trademark way… and now the hearing person can sign. He sure as shit isn’t going to “fix” her, because as far as he and Sam are concerned, there’s not a damn thing to fix.
This is slightly problematic when they’re working a case and someone who knows fuck-all about the supernatural world discovers they can suddenly sign fluently. Their reaction to this may or may not result in Trickster-esque “poetic justice.” Like losing the ability to speak their native language, maybe.
Somebody else please take this plot bunny and run with it.

We really went all out this year. Here are 100 ships delivering the goods from all corners of all fandoms straight to your eyes. Yes, really. 100 of them. And that still barely scratched the surface. Did your OTP make the list?
Also interesting: there are 6 RPS on this list, most from relatively large/widespread fandoms (One Direction) or with big-name celebrities (Taylor Swift and Karli Kloss). And yet there’s Misha and Jensen keeping company with folks who have sheer numbers on their side.
It doesn’t make us any better or any more right (we’re right), but it suggests a much larger proportion of the fandom in general is behind this ship (and tagging frantically). Well done, team. Very well done.
I’m mostly fascinated that Cockles runs that close to Sabriel content. I mean it’s no secret to fandom that Destiel is a huge phenomenon, but Sabriel keeps fairly close company (while not being totally mutual) and generally, RPS isn’t as widely accepted as, say … well, actual fiction ships due to moral holdoffs and social reservation against it. So to say, “The concept of RPS ship Cockles is the size of Sabriel, the second largest ship in the fandom” is… actually pretty big lmao. I don’t even go here but I’ll give accolades where accolades is due. They all outperformed other supposedly ancient huge ships, such as Wincest, which didn’t make the list, much less J2.
In b4 J2 hats or Wincest shippers start trying to whine about crosstagging being responsible, which they’re actually a bigger criminal in than anything, with no explanation on why they didn’t even clip the top 100 in the fictional ship ahoyhoy.

hey fellow destiel friends I KNOW I KNOW THIS IS IN THE TAG OK but it pertains to destiel shippers. in particular, about a fandom myth.
i saw someone say that destiel shippers, all of us, only think of sam as straight, and i’m telling you right now as a multi-sam ship-shipper that ain’t true
Before I get into this, I would like to make note that I have not been in any poly relationships ever and this is all coming from a place of knowing people who have along with my own personal feelings and inner thoughts on being in one so my apologies for any missteps.

So since Thursday, everyone has talked to death about Sam’s happy place being his family and how he dreams of Dean and Cas being domestic, but I would like to bring up a detail that has gotten missed.

And coming across the two incredibly old and open beings/people in question in a compromising position? Seems to have given him further food for thought.
