you ain’t grading a college paper

Do this for any company that asks you to review their employees always.

lemme tell you a secret about ratings: they’re important to an employee’s monthly metrics and they’re literally the difference between them having income or not

uber/lyft: if the driver dips below 4.2 (iirc from my driver friends), they’re banned from using the apps. in other words, they essentially get fired (but not really because they’re considered independent contractors so banned)

best buy: if your score dipped below 70% (i worked as a multi-channel sales associate back when those were a thing), it’s a “coaching” ie: you get talked to by a manager. luckily for me, the times i did, it was because i was the only person working both phones, in-store pickup, and customer service (as well as signing in people waiting for geek squad) so my management team was very lenient (i have a feeling it’s because our admin/hr used to work my position and our store manager had known her for almost a decade so she basically growled at him if he was being unreasonable to me).

oh and fun fact i learned about france call centers: they earn a bonus off of good scores and they don’t make commission off of sales (apparently that’s illegal and i dig it). so that goes for you too, france!

so if you’re the “always room for improvement” kinda person? STOP. IT. you’re putting people’s livelihoods at stake.

if the customer service person didn’t do anything wrong to you PERSONALLY:

DON’T RATE THEM BELOW A 5/5 OR 9/10
