when it comes to destiel, i am definitely positive that it’s heading towards something, but i also proceed with caution, ya know?
plus, it’s highly unlikely anything that major will happen in the premiere.
however, there’s a small moment you should keep an eye out for.
also as a small destiel want list for s14, i really hope they freaking talk and use words in the same language BECAUSE DEAN IS SPEAKING WINCHESTER AND CAS IS SPEAKING COMMON ENGLISH AND NEITHER OF THEM ARE UNDERSTANDING EACH OTHER

I rewatched season 12 recently and I realized that this whole hook-up with the waitress happened because Dean had been calling Cas in every episode before this one and Cas kept ignoring him. He’s upset and falls back on old habits.
He’s abjectly upset about both Cas and Mary abandoning him at this point so yup, the girl looks like a carbon copy of young Mary (ew) and there’s sun imagery (Cas) all over the bloody cafe.
Meanwhile giant BS signs everywhere from the diner’s logo while he settles for the omelette instead of the pancakes he really desires.
At “Gus’s” cafe no less. Remind anyone of Cus’s cafe from Bad Boys which exposes the previous storyline of Dean giving up his romantic love interest to protect Sam? Right after he kicked Cas out of the bunker to protect Sam?

not only do they not care about sam’s interests and likes, but, if we accept that dean just so happened to make a mixtape for himself (not sam as previously mentioned) and ignore the weird hand-me-down no-thought-put-into-it attitude she’s implying dean had in giving it to cas (which is something that goes against canon!dean), kelios actually let slip something sweet and i love it
so if we erase the romantic feel of it, this is pretty much what it boils down to: dean wants to teach cas about music.
which is what friends do.
so in arguing against dean doing something Totally Not Romantic for his Totally Platonic Bro Pal, she made it just as nice anyway ¯_(ツ)_/¯
in all seriousness, firstly i hope s14 makes our sastiel bro bonding dreams come true.
secondly:
can you imagine the both of them trying to worry more about the other’s emotional health (and physical health)? “how are you holding up?” “i’m fine. are you ok? what can i help with?” until they both kind of have enough of the “i’m fine”s from each other because they know the other is holding it in.
and sam is trying to be the supportive bro like with dean last season because another mourning husband is in his family but he’s not sure how to make cas feel better because the dean winchester coping mechanisms aren’t typically his (they only are when he has nothing to distract him and no one to help him) and they definitely aren’t cas’s, he’s sure of that.
and cas is trying to be the same because he knows how intertwined sam and dean’s lives are and so he tries to be supportive the only way he think he’s good for: working around the clock to find dean and find a plan to save him.
