so let’s talk about eugenie’s non-answer

what i’m gleaning from… whatever this is… is that dean is going to struggle with figuring out his place in the bunker. his place in the family.

dean has always been the person in charge. he had to raise sam. he was duty bound by his father to protect his baby brother. the past 14 years, he’s been calling the shots. dean has been made to be the leader 100% of the time, by his father. by fate. he doesn’t know how to not be a leader.

when he comes home to people calling sam “sir” and “chief” and deferring to sam’s leadership and everyone still alive and healthy (tho lbr probably not getting as much good food because their chef was mia)… he’s not going to know what to do with himself. he’s going to feel useless because what he thought was his only role in life is being filled by his giant moose of a brother.

and dean winchester does not take orders (non-sexy ones, anyway) so him and sam’ll probably clash. maybe sam and cas team up to yell at him to rest, they got this. dean is going to end up feeling like that sitcoms mom that goes back to work and thinks the house can’t run without her but everyone seems to be doing ok and she feels unneeded.

i do predict, tho, that they figure it out fairly quickly in a way that doesn’t piss them both off for episodes on end, preferably.

this season seems to be tfw figuring out together through jack, shared son and mirror extraordinaire, that their worth isn’t in what their roles are supposed to be or their powers or what their skills are.

it’s in the people they love. they’re needed and worth something because they have family that care about them and need them alive because they’re them.

i just want everyone to be and do things because they want to. not because they have “no other choice”.

for sale: baby shoes never worn. kid was born bigger than anticipated. absolutely jacked. real renaissance man.

Can you believe that we never got to see Cas put all that parenting knowledge he got to good use?! 😣 We need Dad!Cas!

ikr??? now he’s gotta skip ahead like 17 years and pick up some books on teenagers. looks like we’ll get some father/son bonding/heart-to-heart this season so yay!

Sam-Castiel Bonding

intelligentshipper:

I just kind of want to start an open floor thread for people to reblog and tell me all the things that make them happiest about the potential for Sam and Cas to finally start bonding past Dean. I mean, I love Dean-Cas, and we’ve had some Sam-Cas before but it’s always so swift. And yes, we want Dean back, and whatnot, but… this is a new opportunity to explore these two without Sam just being wedged between eyeball sparring and whatever else and I’m incredibly happy about it, and want to hear EVERYONE’S ideas of their hopes, wants, and whatever else about this (likely short, but THERE) plot arc.

If you go longer than like, the above paragraph, please put it behind a cut. I’ll add mine later on once people have had a chance to add their own squii. Literally, I just… want to see this discussion between everyone. Pl0x.

Edit for Disclaimer: This is a good things thread. Don’t be a bitter dick.

DID SOMEONE SAY SASTIEL BONDING

fr tho i have been WAITING for them to get a chance to be the bros we know they are. THEY LOVE EACH OTHER TOO, DAMN IT. and this may come to a shock to some of you that i, someone with the url casgirlsam, am so in love with their friendship

in no particular order, what i’m excited for (after the cut i’m sorry no i’m not):

FEELINGS TALK they’ve always been more open to sharing emotions and being honest with each other, so i want them to actually talk about how dean being possessed is affecting them. and jared did mention something to that effect, so i’m trying hard not to have my expectations up super duper high (his description wasn’t all… descriptive).

COPARENTING they seem to be more on the same page to start this season than sam and dean were (grief is one hell of a drug) and i know they’ll do what they can to keep jack stable. and i’m hoping that they both learn more about themselves through that experience *cough*cas knowing he’s wanted for him not his powers*coughcoughcough*

HUNTING like seriously. i’ll even take sam&cas&jack hunting trip. i can’t think of a time they actually worked a case with just them. it’s always been dean somewhere in there and i love the man, BUT COME ON

LOOKING OUT FOR EACH OTHER we know sam is going to be messed up emotionally, he always is when dean is missing, and cas is feeling likewise. i want them to actually push each other. like in s9 when cas said he’s fine and sam insisted, “you’re a terrible liar.” they need to lean on each other and help each other.

there you have it. my list of bonding wants/feels. may s14 bless us all
