So I wandered over this little gem today.
Will put my thorough dragging of bronlies, especially the Kelloggs club, behind a cut to not wank up dashboards.

I didn’t realize how terrible things had gotten for Sam fans, and Jared Padalecki in general.
I don’t like Sam all that much (though, kudos to the writers for making me agree, and laugh with a character I prefer much less to others), but this is insane. Sam (plus TFW) fans should be able to enjoy it without getting harassed by K and her cronies.
As usual your posts helped clear things up for me. Oh, and this is MxScarredFacade just so you know, and aren’t freaked out by the familiarity I’m expressing here 🙂
(hi btw! *waves*)
that’s the funny thing. if you actually show any love towards sam/jared, whether he’s your favorite or not, they’ll either talk amongst themselves about how you’re totally just faking it or just straight up call you a liar and that you actually hate him. i’ve had it to me WAY too many times. both on here and on twitter. it literally happened just two nights ago.
tenoko gets asks and curious cats with a variation of this same question: “why do you hate sam?”
my sam!girl friend that runs changing channels has it happened to her constantly, too.
i’m at the point that i’ve been involved in fandom, whether as a lurker or engaged, for so long that i’ve lost my will to give a flying fuck.
hey this got long again, sorry

(Hi!!!!)
Urgh, it’s always the loudest group, no matter their size that can make things the hardest in a fandom unfortunately.
And that’s sad, and upsetting to me, because the charity aspect, and the way I’d heard the actors are with people, each other, (kind, funny, intelligent and willing to help so many people) and that this friendly, family bond extended to and amongst the fans is actually what drew me into wanting to participate in fandom in the first place just this year.
I don’t really blame people for being nervous wreck’s about it either. Some things you just don’t want to see, and that’s supposed to be respected, not thrown in your face (especially if it’s triggering!).
I’d heard about some things in passing before, but only a bit from FanFiction.net and Ao3 in the comments section. Didn’t really get into looking at the different… Faction’s? Oh, God this is so cliché… Until “fans” (who I now know were Destiel, and Misha hating jerks) jumped my first ever Supernatural post, going on about how “Destiel is heterosexual erasure” and “Destihellers push their agenda in people’s faces”.
I don’t think they actually expected me to research, because I figured out how full of kaka they were with just a google search. It’s what actually lead me to start searching for, well, to put it rather bluntly, people who weren’t such whillywarmers and actually decent enough to have a conversation about Supernatural. And voilà! Found them. And they’re Destiel shippers.
But I’m sure there’s a solution to this issue, it just requires perseverance in the face of stupidity.
(Also, now I’m going to be on the lookout for scared viewers and defend them with Hellfire).
[…] it just requires perseverance in the face of stupidity.
yes exactly! and that’s the hard part. it was hard to let go of my hesitance to blog and tweet about sam. it’s hard letting go of that.
and now look at my u/ns for here and twitter!
we need to just collectively take back the bro bond and sam and tell them “you know what? i think we will post about these things we love and not be scared of you, tyvm.”
we have to start somewhere tho. you see a broment in s14 that really tugged your heart strings? talk about it! a sam sl really got you excited for more? tweet about it! let others know that it’s okay. they don’t have to hide away anymore.
