I’m pretty sure it’s basic canon that Cas has had vessels of both sex and is from an agender species?
I’m not sure how any of this computes to someone that, claiming to be LGBT themselves, Cas is a cis straight male?

I would argue that angels are not (generally speaking) agender simply because we have canon instances of angels keeping their gender pronouns even when they change vessels to the opposite.

Perhaps I should have said asexual species. My brain’s all crosswired from dealing with the crazytown loop I just witnessed. But not to confuse asexual species with ace orientation. Which Cas may or may not also fill, and I have a whole different meta about, but talking about asexual sex and species vs ace orientation. You get me. I think. It kinda gets complicated talking multispecies and that was a mis-speak. Some angels do seem to keep a preferred gender pronoun. Which only further complicates how ridiculous trying to call this cis-anything is though when they’re all in a vessel and have traded in/out in the past.
No, I totally get you. I was struggling with how to Vocabulary (lol) in my response, as well. Like… Yeah they have a preferred gender, but even trying to apply the concept of “cisgender” to an ANGEL is mind boggling.

Right. Which made Raphael male gender identifying, even if in species, there’s really nothing, because they’re balls of light, and don’t have a sex, beyond the sex of the host. That is to say, they can plunk into a body and may or may not choose a strongly identifying pronoun for gender. For example, I highly doubt Castiel, during occupation of Claire, would have gone out of the way to ask for a male pronoun usage, considering he had very little time in the male body at that point and had a previous female vessel as well, as well as very little contact with that.
However, the natural sex-state of angels are essentially a-sex. There’s no way to have a cis angel, because no matter what the state or vessel, it does not correspond with the original sex-state of the creature. They may or may not take on the identity of a vessel’s gender, and may or may not keep a gender identity after that (in example: at this point, I would not be surprised to see Castiel having a male gender identity, if Castiel identified at all.) Castiel, for all we know, just doesn’t know enough about gender politics and still doesn’t identify in any way but Sam and Dean are always there calling him dude, and he has no compulsion to correct that, ergo accepts the gender terms. Or like I said, Cas could very well identify male. But neither is Castiel’s sex-state from birth.
It’s… efficiently impossible to argue a cis angel because angels don’t come in a state of binary sex to begin with, only external vessels and then identity. The only way to have a cis angel would theoretically be to find a thirdgender vessel with no identifiable sex characteristics tbh.
