In honor of the THIRD bronly meme that’s floating around, I’m just going to set this landmark here and say, “bless this week.” They’re getting richer by the day.

My girlfriend almost crashed from laughing her ass of when I read over the phone the new “it isn’t a mixtape, it’s just a bunch of Dean’s favorite songs put on a cassette” anti company line.

So this isn’t a post, it’s just a bunch of words composed into a topic on the internet. I’d take a screenshot of myself with the dictionary, but Nancy the Destiel Shipper made me promise not to post it. But I guess this isn’t a post so maybe I can have a friend draw it for me.

In other news Dean’s car isn’t a car it’s just a transport carriage on wheels.

there’s ANOTHER meme out there? holy shit.
also this post is golden

I’ve seen a lot of “where is this from” like in your tags, so I’ll tuck this behind a cut.

Holy shit what a bunch of nonsense they think of. Taking care of the tape like you did I need to focus on the “it was only a little moment with no significance to just teach Cas about music” claim because

1) with all the time he spent in that car you think he doesn’t know all of Dean’s fav tracks and just about music in general? Hello?

2) why have it at all then. There was no context leading up to that that, certainly no plot context, indicating Cas needed to learn about music.

What a faulty narrative. Goodness gracious.

Bronlies are forever pressed, bitter, and angry.

It’s been a decade, guys, reconsider your life choices you’re this hateful and with so much energy being dedicated to it.

So we were chatting about this a bit earlier (by we I mean me, @tinkdw and @margarittet) and I find the whole thing infinitely fascinating. The leaps and bounds that these people are putting in to try to disprove the mixtape is crazy. The very phrase “it’s not a tape, it’s a selection of songs by one band: hence the lack of mix” is just fundamentally wrong and makes the writer seem extraordinarily dumb.

If the cassette tape is a home made selection of songs chosen specifically by one individual to gift to another, then it is a mixtape, regardless of whether all those songs are from the same artist or not. If it’s not a direct copy of an artists album, then it is a mixtape.

@intelligentshipper mentioned this under the cut, but I feel it needs to be stressed again because the distinction is evidently lost on anyone who is willing to sacrifice intelligence for ship hatred.

Dean’s top Zepp tracks is a cassette tape that he made himself, of his carefully selected favourite Led Zeppelin songs. It is not a random cassette of Zepp II or IV or Houses of the Holy or whatever album Dean might have considered his fave. Oh no. It was a mix of Dean’s favourites

How utterly idiotic must you be to deny this fundamental canon fact?

However, as I was pondering on this earlier it occurred to me that there is a chance that this isn’t even down to sheer idiocy. These people know fully well that Dean made Cas a mixtape, and all the romantic connotations that this heartfelt gift imply. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be so loud about it. No, their utter denial that the thing exists is intrinsically linked to their hatred of Destiel to begin with.

Imagine being so utterly focused on your hatred that it blinds you to basic facts? The anti’s will scramble for any explanation that they can find that would disprove that which is right in front of them, simply because they have devoted so much time and effort to their hatred that the very idea that the thing they hate could thrive and blossom into something real and undeniable is terrifying to them.

It’s not that they are idiotic, it’s that something like the mixtape shakes their belief system to its core and causes them to cling to any explanation, however illogical and incorrect, that they can come up with that supports their delusional interpretation of the show.

It’s fascinating.

The sad thing is, even if the show did shatter their interpretation, it wouldn’t stop them. At that point they would simply call it “pandering” and “bad writing” and call for Dabb to be sacked.

The anti’s are actually a really good indicator of how well the Destiel narrative is doing because the louder they get, the more idiotic they sound, and the more frequent the cries of PANDERING and BAD WRITING, the better it is for Destiel, and for us.

In the mean time, we make memes. 😀

This ^

We were discussing too how they actually argue against stuff which is actual canon outside of Destiel when we meta it because they just cannot accept any of our meta because that would mean we weren’t totally delusional. It’s really interesting to see as per the above how out of their way they’ll go to argue against honest to goodness later proved by canon meta such as Dean’s facade regarding things like media, the Cas/Crowley mirrors, the Lucifer redemption or not arc, Jack as the mirror of TFW, Dean as Sam’s parent even I mean…

They don’t get the point of symbolism or tropes or…anything much. Some honestly think Amelia and Amara were supposed to be liked and were endgame for Sam/Dean til they whined to TPTB that they didn’t like them, they don’t see at all how they were not built as such at all. Same for Sam’s wanting out of hunting and Dean wanting family and home comforts. They are just clueless / (benefit of the doubt aren’t that stupid) just refuse to see canon cos it doesn’t suit their codependency narrative.

Recently they argued against Cas’ depression arc culminating in the Empty emancipation and sure it’s not “proven” yet but some really argued with me a while back about something that clearly has a fuck ton of basis for a meta interpretation in Sam’s food issues linked to cleanliness and his Lucifer arc (I so want to see him eat real food again this season). Like, you don’t have to say it’s the only interpretation but it’s clearly a valid one.

Oh yeah that led to the whole “the pizza is always a lie” half crack but totally not meta which is just brilliant and again appeared in Sam’s dreamscape like 3 episodes ago so…

They also argued so much crap about Jack that was so surface level ridiculous and was proved wrong within minutes of 13×01 so they clearly haven’t a clue.

Ah, the depths of bronly denial…

I’m guessing that something as obvious as a Destiel Kiss (if it ever happened) would be dismissed as a Brotherly thing. Or Mouth to Mouth.

Can you imagine for a moment: Fight scene ends. One (Cas?) almost dies. The other (let’s say Dean) has Enough of losing/almost losing him. Skip over to: Kissing ensues.

“Omg there go the Destihellers again, thinking that’s Destiel. It’s so OBviouS that’s Mouth to Mouth Resuscitation, I mean come ON. He’s on Death’s door over there. He’d do the Same for his own Brother. That’s all. Delusional Destihellers.”

It’s not a kiss, it’s just putting their mouths together for their dying breaths. They were obviously trying to maximize on oxygen and lung power.

I’m reposting for all, but the last couple had me dying of laughter. 😂😂😂

This post has over 300 notes. I’m going to pretend like that means something. Because there’s another meme. Oh, wait, right, Destiel fandom doesn’t operate in a niche of 50 people and 300 notes is absolutely nothing, woops.  Sorry, Nancy the Destiel Shipper confused us all or something. Moustache twirl.

I’d like to add that they also love to argue that Sam and Dean are not actual brothers because they are just fictional characters. So I guess that means they are not related to anyone, they have no parents, they are not actual Winchesters because so what if the story says they are? iT’s jUsT FiCtioN

the absolute reaching they have to do to justify everything they do is hilarious and really kind of sad. they can’t just own what they feel about the show. no. they have to invent things. and not like taking an element on the show and meta-izing it. i mean literally pulling shit like this out of their asses.

so a mixtape is just a tape with songs on it and sam and dean are what? strangers that just so happen to share a common background and live together?
