People are really out there being mad that Jack is thinking that perhaps Dean has to die to save the world from the Supernatural threat of an Archangel whose already proved he will destroy the planet if he gets his way when Dean himself literally spent 13 whole episodes of season 12 and 5 whole episodes of season 13 saying the exact same fucking thing about him when he hadn’t even been born yet and then later proved he’s a good kid who wasn’t ever gonna destroy the world for funsies.
Jack’s actually got more of a leg to stand on here guys.
Plus: it’s a standard storytelling morality question Susan.
Extra plus: double standards much?!
Sam would be so disappointed.
Hard agree. It’s not a case of Jack gleefully rubbing his hands together and saying to himself:
‘Finally. A chance to kill Dean’.
Much like Dean wasn’t actually hyped about killing Jack. They both just didn’t want the other to hurt people. In this case Jack is terrified of Michael, and he’s experienced a major ego takedown. He’s vulnerable and scared. It is a basic morality question from time immorial: ‘Would you let someone you love/know die, or even cause their death to save….literally anyone else on earth?’. There is no right answer. The answer is you kill that person, if I get a deadly virus and the only way to stop it spreading to the whole world is to kill me then do it. None of this taking the 1% chance and putting everyone else at risk.
But ya know…TV land.
Moreover this is the same question that has been presented to Team Free Will over and over. Dean will you kill your brother to save the world much? Cas will you kill Sam to save the world? Sam, Dean will you kill Cas, he’s been snorting souls again (also to save the world)? Cas will you have a whole army or keep Dean?
It makes perfect sense for Jack to not only face this question, but to answer in the ‘well we may have to kill him’, because that’s literally what’s happened like every other time. Even Castiel was ready to kill Jack at one point. If they aren’t ready to kill each other then you don’t get to play the love and free will overcoming all obstacles card.
Okay but literally the first conversation Dean had with Jack was “I’m going to kill you so you don’t kill everyone else.”
That line of thinking is literally the first thing Dean taught Jack on this earth as a standard of behavior. It’s honestly courteous of him to think that’s what Dean would want us to do and suggest it.
Hahahahahaha so true
Jack – I’m just doing what he taught me – Winchester 😂
