How do I word?

intelligentshipper:

You may remember me saying breaking down words in a BuckLeming script seems to be futile, but you also remember me clarifying that words on half of it – read as – one specific author of the pair – tend to be where the bedshitting goes down. In example, I mentioned (in this second commentary) that I felt the AU side of the story actually had decent dialogue, parrying, jabs and more. The Bunker side was full of halfassed lack of effort and shoe-horns.

I’m sure the meta authors of the fandom know, but some may not so I’ll clarify: BuckLeming have a bizarre writing process where they each write their own story ideas in separate rooms, then figure out how to slam them together, usually with a bridging mini-middle set of engagements, such as the Lucifer storyline and smatter of Asmodeus lead-in for 13×18. However, removing this bridge, we essentially have two completely independent storylines that are almost their own episodes packed in. This is essentially your standard BuckLeming episode.

AU-author – who I openly postulate as Buckner for the reasons in the other thread – actually does have his way with words, which makes diagnosing anything in their episodes so AWKWARD.

But a few points:

What Ketch Could Have Said:

“Bring back Sam, Castiel, Gabriel, the Navy,”
“Bring back Sam, the angels, the Navy,”
“Bring back your brother, your angel, Gabriel, the Navy,”

 What Ketch Actually Said:

  • “Bring back Sam, your angel, Gabriel, the Navy-“

Whether or not this is conscious on this trainwreck duo’s part, it IS somewhat telling of at least, subconsciously, where things are in the writing room here.

Though this side also gave us the fantastic parallel. SAME AUTHOR SET,

10×3:

Castiel: “You look terrible.”

Dean: “You know, it wouldn’t kill you to lie every now and again.”

Castiel: “No, it wouldn’t kill me. I just… you…”

Dean: “Forget it. Well. You, on the other hand, you… Looking good.”

13×18:

Ketch: “You don’t look good.”

Dean: “Yeah, well, you’re not my type either.”

Huh. It’s almost like there’s something different here, despite coming from the same author pen, and with the same character.

Bunker side – and likely Leming side – our dialogue was a MESS. But throughout the AU dialogue was often sharp and even coy. So this is all quite curious to me. Huh.
